NE Jr. Pre-Teen headed to world famous gymnastics training center

Your Nebraska Jr. Pre-Teen winner Emma Strom has not only been preparing for the National pageant in November but tumbling her way to the top in the gymnastic world. Just last week Emma was on the news for her amazing accomplishments.
Emma is pictured on the right
Emma competes for Premier Gymnastics in Omaha and this summer tested along with some 1,700 other gymnasts nationwide for an opportunity to showcase her talents at the national level. Emma secured one of the 303 spots for testing at the national level, the first stop to her ultimate goal of competing in the olympic games. She recently left for Houston, where the National Team Training Center is located.
“This is where we actually bring up all of the Olympians, and World Champions we had this last weekend, came from this camp,” said Bob Matthews, Emma's gymnastics coach.
This past weekend Emma faced hours of testing at the camp, hoping to be selected for one of two teams.  Less than 30 gymnasts will make the cut.
Emma has ‘outstanding focus’, according to Matthews, and makes tumbling look easy on both the floor and beam.
Congratulations to Emma for being selected for this prestigious and worldwide recognized camp!

Make sure to watch the video that aired on the news here so you can see Emma in action!

MN Royalty works together at Carter Store Toy Drive

The National American Miss Minnesota Royalty combined forces to put together a Toy Drive at the Carter Store in Woodbury, MN. The four hour event had fun kid activities and refreshments, while benefitting the Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

The Minnesota Royalty all worked together to make sure the event went off without a hitch! The employees of Carter's loved meeting the queens and were very excited to work with NAM representatives.
Each of the queens had their own special duties during the event but your MN Jr. Pre-Teen Queen, Natalie Engh, took the lead to make sure everything was running smoothly being she was the one that set everything up.

Your MN Pre-Teen Cover Girl Madelyn Hohenstein was helping young kids color their very own crowns. Jeralyn Ree, your MN Jr. Pre-Teen Cover Girl handed out cups of animal crackers and bottles of water. Grace Nester your MN Princess Queen, Savannah Buck your MN Jr. Teen Cover Girl and Stephanie Phillips your MN Miss Queen were greeters and handed out fliers and shopping bags.

"Us parents just sat back, watched, and enjoyed the smiles of the kids showing their color crowns off," Madelyn's mom said. "The parents who came to the event loved it because they could shop in peace. Overall it was fun, and this group of sister queens love each other very much, it shows in how great they work together."

What a wonderful example of sister queens working together to make a difference!

Zoephia Decker-Knealing partnering with Pajama Program to make a difference

Zoephia Decker-Knealing placed third runner-up in the princess age division at this year's Arizona State Pageant and will be competing for the All-American Princess title this coming November at our National Pageant. As a part of National American Miss Zoephia has caught the community involvement bug and decided to partner with an amazing organization called the Pajama Program.

The Pajama Program was founded to help children who have been removed from their homes, and who are often shuffled between temporary homes. The pajamas have come to represent people who care, and they offer security and love for a child abandoned in a shelter or waiting for a foster home.

As a spunky five and a half year-old Zoephia got started by viewing the Pajama Program website, learned what was required to host a drive and has been contacting friends, family and community members in her neighborhood. She made a goal of collecting 250 books and 250 pajamas by October and the response to Zoephia's hard work has been GREAT! So much so, that some have offered to host larger events like a classic car show for the purpose of collecting donations.

The Arizona Chapter of the Pajama Program was started in 2007 and has 37 Receiving Organizations throughout the state. To date, the program has collected 23,278 pairs of pajamas and 11,646 books because of the generosity of people like Zoephia and her family.

The President of the Arizona Chapter, Lucia Wheele, recently e-mailed the Decker-Knealing family after hearing about all of their wonderful work!

"Your daughter seems to be an amazing young lady, wanting to serve the community at such a young age," Lucia said. "We are getting ready for what we call Danger Season, the time we really need help in giving the children comfort and warmth in the way of new pajamas and new books, so your drive is right on target. Your gifts will mean a lot to them."

MO Jr. Pre-Teen Shae Smith chosen for anti-bullying campaign

Shae Smith, this year's Miss Missouri Jr. Pre-Teen Queen, has recently been honored by Sears to represent an important platform to her, anti-bullying. Shae was chosen as one of three spokesmodels for Sears' Anti-Bullying Pledge and is busy encouraging others to take this pledge with her to put an end to bullying. Because of her involvement with this pledge, Shae recently was asked to take photos for a short documentary for an anti-bullying campaign called "Little Miss Victim."

Her anti-bullying platform is not the only thing Shae has been focused on during her reign. She has been a busy bee since winning the crown and started off by donating the books collected from the NAM MO pageant community involvement project to a group of children in her hometown known as Club Liberator. She has been in two parades, made appearances, helped with the crowning at four local festival pageants, and has raised $500 in her first fundraiser for the Trisomy 18 Foundation.
