Is it really already time for farewell blog posts?! The first one of the year goes to... Caitlin Brisse, Nebraska Jr. Teen Cover Girl 2013 and National Jr. Teen Cover Model 2013-2014
Pageant time has come again, which brings
out mixed emotions. I don’t know how I’ll be able to put my feelings into
words, but I’ll try. Being Cover Girl has made this the most amazing year of my
life. I have learned and grown so much throughout this experience, and I have
acquired skills that I will carry with me for years to come. Being a
spokeswoman for National American Miss has opened so many doors for me.
As a representative for National American
Miss, I donated books and my pageant winnings to the Ronald McDonald House,
helped with Spring cleaning at the Open Door Mission, participated in two 5K’s
to raise money for the Susan G. Koman foundation and Special Olympics and
escorted homeless military veterans during Omaha’s Operation Stand Down. I also
escorted National Miss Amazing contestants at the Omaha Zoo for the first ever
national pageant to showcase the abilities of girls with disabilities.
My sister queens and I participated in several parades around Nebraska and we had so much fun together!
I went to Missouri to help with the
Missouri State Pageant and made friends with royalty from all over the US.
In November, my Mom and I packed our bags
and headed to Nationals for a week of fun! We went to Disneyland and Hollywood
and met some amazing friends. I was crowned National Cover Model and won 1st
Runner Up for Best Thank You Note and 4th Runner Up for Best
Scrapbook.
To Breanne and her team, you stood with
me through thick and thin and treated me like family. You encouraged and
empowered me to be strong and confident. Your faithfulness to NAM makes me hope
I can be as awesome as you when I grow up!
To my beautiful sister queens,
Brookelynn, Emma, Naomi, Alyssa, Megan and Amanda, we have spent so much time
together this year, and even after we give up our crowns, we’ll still be
sisters. You guys are sweet and sassy at the same time. Thank you for the fun
times and amazing memories. I love you all!
To our successors, all of you are in for
a year of awesomeness! You have an extraordinary family and team supporting you
all the way. Have a great year and don’t forget to smile!
