Alena Mascarenas Featured on Cover of Magazine

Your Arizona Princess Queen Alena Mascarenas graced the cover of the North Gilbert Breeze September issue. In addition to being pictured on the cover, Alena had an article published in the magazine that featured her, her family and her experience with National American Miss.

A few of my favorite parts from the article include learning that Alena is the ONLY girl on her Dragons baseball team, that her father is active duty U.S. Army in Louisiana but is still able to make it to nationals in California to escort her on stage, and that Alena wants to be a dolphin trainer and to volunteer with Feed My Starving Children.

Check out the full article and see the cover of the magazine here!

AZ sister queens bond over new experience!

All of our reigning Arizona State Queens were honored to be invited for the rodeo queen event at Blue Robbin Horse Shows. Alena Mascarenas (princess), Presley Kern (jr. pre-teen), Katie Schaaf (pre-teen), Nicole Carney (jr. teen), Danielle Fisher (teen), and Elizabeth Riley (Miss) all had a fun and new experience learning what a horse show entails. Even the parents were along for the learning! Our beautiful queens learned how to judge the horses and what to look for. "It's like a pageant for ponies," they all said! It looks like it was a wonderful bonding excursion for the sister queens of Arizona!

AZ JPT Cover Girl Dani Mixer honored at University of Arizona

Your 2014 National American Miss Arizona Jr Pre-Teen Cover Girl, Dani Mixer, was honored at the University of Arizona! Throughout the month of June, a contest was held where members of UA's kids club could submit their very own ideas for the new name of the club, which was formerly known as Club Arizona. They had over 80 creative submissions! After deliberating on the most creative names, UA narrowed it down to three and let the Club members vote on their favorite new club name. The overwhelming winner was Arizona Kidcats Club! This creative name was submitted by our very own Dani Mixer! She won four tickets to the football season opener against UNLV on Friday, Aug. 29, a display honoring her creativity in the Jim Click Hall of Champions, bragging rights, and was even featured at the football game with the cheerleaders which aired on ESPN! Way to go Dani!

Dani is 8 years old and just started the third grade at Agua Caliente Elementary School. She enjoys dancing, fashion design, sewing, and pageantry. When Dani is not crafting, dancing, at school, or volunteering her time in her community, you can often find her at events at the University of Arizona. To say that Dani has inherited her mother’s “Wildcat for Life” spirit is an understatement. Dani loves attending athletics events and you can even catch a glimpse of Dani and her sister in Greg Byrne’s end of the year athletics video. In April, Dani entered and won the People’s Choice Award at the annual University of Arizona, “On our Own Time,” Art Exhibit sponsored by the National Arts Program. Needless to say, when the current Club Arizona announced a contest to rename the program, Dani rose to the challenge. Dani has no doubt that she IS a future Wildcat. She dreams of being part of the Stevie Eller School of Dance one day. Here are some pictures of Dani's amazing experience!
