Iowa Princess Serves Lunch at the Wesley Center

2015 Miss Iowa Princess, Lilly Glandon, visited the Wesley Center and handed out the rest of the school supplies and books donated at the pageant. She also helped serve lunch and clean tables. The Wesley Center is located in Iowa City, Iowa and is a place for the less fortunate of all ages to come and get a healthy meal. The kids were so excited about the books and the parent's really appreciated the school supplies.

Arizona Queens Volunteer at the Phoenix Children's Hospital

In August, 2015 Miss Arizona Princess, Zoephia Decker-Knealing, and 2014-15 National American Miss Teen, Danielle Fisher, volunteered at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s (PCH) Teddy Bear Fair. This is an annual event for PCH kids, families and others to come learn more about being healthy.  Zoephia’s job was to socialize, make sure kids were having fun, and to help her mom man the basketball game. Below are a couple videos of Zoephia & Danielle teaching & getting kids to dance.

Arizona Teen Volunteers at Tools 4 School

The first week after getting crowned is always super busy, and that held true for 2015 Miss Arizona Teen, Alondra Mitchell. She started off attending the 3rd Annual Tools 4 School event with Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and other local dignitaries. Tools 4 School provides school supplies to those families that cannot afford them. Alondra was captured by the beautiful smiles of so many who wanted to know how they could become National American Miss Queens and it was a joy for them to hear her share her journey.

Project 150 Volunteer Opportunity

Check out a great an opportunity for NAM girls to help in the community! Make sure you contact Veronica Beauchamp by December 9th. See below for more details.

"Project 150" is a nonprofit group striving to help out Homeless Teens and Youth in Nevada. Veronica has been helping them with clothing drives and other events in the past. Each month, they open up "Betty's Boutique" (a storage warehouse at Project 150, located at 3600 N. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130) and allow homeless teens and youth that can show a school ID card to receive several "NEW" outfits to pick out on their own and keep, for FREE. (They must show school ID to prove they are continuing education, and taking advantage of help Project 150 and their partnering organizations are providing to help these kids become successful and thrive).

This month, Project 150 has donations, but they only have 22 helpers. They NEED 63 MORE HELPERS in order to help service the 800 homeless teens and youth that will be there on Saturday, December 12th. So, the Director of Project 150 reached out to Veronica Beauchamp, NAM 2015-2016 Junior Teen National Cover Miss, for help!

Volunteers need to wear CLOSED toed shoes, jeans and a NAM t-shirt. Volunteers need to arrive by 9AM for instruction and station assignment (restocking shelves with items, helping to find sizes, watching the dressing room areas, calculating items to make sure the teens each get listed number of shirts, jeans, etc.....basically, WE are going to run the store!). All volunteers will receive a FREE catered lunch provided by a local casino. Volunteers should be completely finished by 1 PM.

Homeless Teens/Youth will start arriving by 10 AM, until Noon. Afterwards, volunteers will help tidy up and restock shelves.

We could also use a few parents to direct parking, if anyone wants to volunteer. They have safety vests provided.

Anyone who wants to volunteer and CAN show up for sure, should contact Veronica Beauchamp, NAM 2015-2016 Junior Teen National Cover Miss by email at vlbeau@gmail.com or by texting her at (702)-279-8345, or you can leave a message on our home phone at (702)-568-3489. We need to provide a list of volunteers to the Director by December 10th.

Jillian Wolosek's Journey as a National Jr. Pre-Teen Cover Girl

It seems like only yesterday that I was crowned your 2014-2015 National Jr. Pre-Teen Cover Girl. This has been an exciting year. I have had the opportunity to be involved in several wonderful activities and events.
My adventure began when I received the 2014 Miss Wisconsin Jr. Pre-Teen Top Model 4th runner up award.  With that title, I had the chance to go to Nationals and embark on a new and exciting path in my pageant experience.

In getting ready for Nationals, I set my sights on achieving an Advertising title.  With a lot of hard work and many wonderful supporters, I was able to earn the title of National Cover Girl. I was also able to compete for the National All-American Jr. Pre-Teen Queen title.
At Nationals, I met so many new friends from all around the country and had opportunities to experience things only California can provide. Going to Disneyland and on the Hollywood Tour was amazing. Seeing Rodeo Drive, the Walk of Fame, and the actual HOLLYWOOD sign in person was surreal.

Competition at Nationals was intense. Although, I didn’t bring home a National Queen’s title, I did bring home an enhanced sense of confidence and felt proud that I was able to represent our great state of Wisconsin to the best of my ability.
I want thank my family for always supporting my dreams and I want to thank NAM for giving all girls a great way to express themselves and grow to be confident young women.

Always believe in your dreams and keep reaching for the stars!

All my best,
Jillian Wolosek

Minnesota Jr. Pre-Teen Donates to "Stuff the Bus"

Miss Minnesota Jr. Pre-Teen, Danica Byrne, donated the school supplies from the Community Involvement competition to her local school district. Every year Danica and her family donate school supplies to the "Stuff the Bus" event for the Battle Lake School District, so this year she'll have a whole bunch of supplies to donate to local kids who need a little extra help thanks to the NAM organization! The books will be donated to the Battle Lake School library. If the school already has a copy of any of the donated books they will return it to Danica and she will give them to the non-profit organization "Someplace Safe" which provides services to women and children fleeing from domestic abuse situations.

Miss Missouri Rides in the Rich Hill Parade

Everything at National American Miss is a family event, and that includes parades! Not only did Miss Missouri Princess, Caroline Cook, get to ride in the Rich Hill 4th of July parade, but her little sister got to put on a matching dress and wave as well. Do we have a future NAM girl on our hands?

Iowa Royalty Meet the Governor

NAM queens can get quite a bit done when they have a weekend to spend together, and that holds true for the Iowa state royalty. The girls met up in Des Moines and started their weekend on Thursday with a meeting with the governor and a tour of the capital building.

On Friday they had an interview at a news station in Des Moines, Great Day, and after that they visited the Blank Children's Hospital and donated some supplies.
The girls finished off the weekend with a group photo shoot.

Minnesota Queens Wave in the Rose Parade

On June 29th, Minnesota Princess, Bailey Tapia, Pre-Teen, Marysa Loomis, Jr. Teen, Michelle Bergh, and Miss, Lexie Ozerov, participated in the Rose Parade in Roseville, MN. Just before their unit was about to enter the parade, a big storm came through, causing the parade participants to take shelter in the Roseville Area High School for an hour. Once the storm passed, they were back on the truck, ready to wave to all of the parade goers.
