The Spirit of Giving - National American Miss
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I wanted to share with you something that I am thankful for - the spirit of giving!!!
I just love seeing how much National American Miss & our girls continue to serve their community and to give to others in big ways. I just know that through all of the work you girls do - that you are not just making a difference, but are giving a lot of people hope, faith, and a reason to be thankful!
With that in mind, I wanted to showcase our 2010 Arizona royalty who have pretty much taken over their homestate - being active in just about every activity possible and loving every minute of giving back to their community, inspiring others, and giving many a reason to be thankful!
Check out some highlights of their year and for those of you that also hold titles in your homestate, I encourage you to check out these local chapters and organizations so that you, too, can get involved with these organizations in your own hometown and continue to inspire and spread the good word of giving!
Having fun making homemade letters and cards for care packages to soldiers and military personnel overseas...together these girls have signed and created over 2600!!!!!!!
Working with literacy programs & donating books from the National American Miss Community Involvement Program
Volunteering at a children's Halloween event for Maggie's Place - a community of homes that provides housing and shelter for expectant mothers who are alone or living on the street
Walking proudly in the September 11th Freedom Walk
Goofing around and getting dirty by cleaning guests rooms at the Ronald McDonald House
Taking a moment to pose outside of Feed My Starving Children before trading their tiaras in for hairnets to fill packages. In one night, the girls filled food pouches that equated to 9,405 meals - enough to feed 26 kids for an entire year!
