Local News reaches out to lend support for Miss Illinois Teen's amazing cause
After donating all the books & bears to local children's hospitals that she had gathered after obtaining her title through the National American Miss Books & Bears Community Involvement Program, Valerie Stokes - Miss Illinois Teen was inspired to do even more. Going one step further, Valerie founded Pillowcases for Pediatrics - a program where she makes homemade pillowcase and donates them hospitalized children. The local newspaper was so inspired by her movement, that they too are doing their part to get the message out about her platform and featured her in a recent article, encouraging others to get involved, as well.
