Looking back one year ago, it's hard to believe I am where I am! Right after I won the Miss Arizona Jr. Teen title, I met all of my new sister queens, and I could already tell that this was going to be such a memorable year.
To start off, we had a group meeting and got to know each other, and talked about appearances that we all wanted to do. My sister queens and I volunteered at Feed My Starving Children a bunch of times throughout our year and attended countless parades. We made a few appearances at Makutu's Island, held food drives for our troops, attended many walks, and spent so much time together! Before nationals, all of us got together and practiced as a group for nationals.
We were all beyond excited to go to Hollywood, California to compete for the NATIONAL title! We were even more excited when our own sister queen won nationals!! Words can't describe how proud I am of Danielle for winning. She has become my best friend and I wouldn't trade her for the world! I have become so close with each one of my sister queens, outside of the system. Lizzy, Dani, and I go out to lunch, have sleepovers, and go shopping very frequently. I've babysat Alena and Presley, and we even went to Katie's dance recital! I am so blessed to have such an amazing group of best friends!
I have so many people to thank for making this year possible, but I'll just start off with thanking my parents. They have been my biggest supporters from day 1 and I could never ask for better role models! My mom has driven me to countless appearances without complaining, no matter how far they were. She is my partner in crime!
To all of the girls competing this year, CONGRATULATIONS! You made it as a state finalist! I am so proud of you. I attended many Open Calls and met a bunch of girls and I couldn't ask for a better group of Jr. Teens! We are going to have such a great time pageant weekend. There is no need to be nervous! I am a very silly person, so if I see someone left out or nervous, you better believe I will come up to you and make you laugh! I know everyone says this, but be confident! Be YOU! There is no one else like you in the world, so let your inner beauty shine so the judges can see the real YOU! I remember when I competed my first time as a Pre Teen. I had never done a pageant before and I was so nervous. But as soon as I hit the stage something hit me and I was working it! I let my inner beauty shine and the judges saw because I placed First Runner Up In my very first pageant!! I even went back the next year and won. National American Miss is an amazing system and I owe them for all of my confidence. After competing a few times, I am proud to say I have established great public speaking and communication skills! I can't believe my year is almost up, but I have such amazing memories that will stick with me forever. Thank you so much and best of luck to everybody!

From the moment I was crowned 2014 Miss Arizona Jr. Pre-teen, I have been so busy making my NAMily proud, from community service to appearances and making the most of my time giving back to the community.
I had the time of my life getting to know my sister queens throughout my year. Some of the fun we had was collecting stuffed animals for the Phoenix Children's Hospital, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army and collecting food for the veterans.
I'm eternally grateful for my sister queens. Not only are they my NAMily but they are part of my family. I love them with all my heart and I hope we continue to serve the community together as NAMily.
I could not be more thankful for having this opportunity in life and being able to represent National American Miss as your
2014 Miss Arizona Jr. Pre-Teen, Presley Kern.

God says in the book of Jeremiah, “I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Part of God’s perfect plan for me has been to be a part of National American Miss. In 2014 I was crowned the Arizona Junior Pre-Teen Cover Girl. I cannot adequately express how amazing it has been to represent this incredible program.
To kick off my reign, I donated my school supplies to a local needy school. Even before representing the state of Arizona as NAM Cover Girl, I have always enjoyed getting out and making a difference in my community.
In October, I stepped out for Juvenile Diabetes. I have been participating in JDRF of Southern Arizona since before I could walk. However, this was the first time that I got to raise awareness and dollars with a sash and crown!
Another one of my passions is the relationship between college and kids. I am an avid participant in many events at the University of Arizona in Tucson. In August I was honored as the winner of the University of Arizona’s kids club naming contest. Arizona Kidcats is now the name of the official junior athletics club for the UofA.
In January, I was chosen as a Junior Reporter for campus athletics. Because of these honors, I have gone to countless athletic events and met the cheerleaders, mascots, and baseball players. The biggest thrill has been to do all of these things while representing National American Miss!
One of my favorite parts of this year was riding on my very own float in the Tucson Parade of Lights. I loved hearing little girls get excited about seeing a real “princess”. That was so fun! However, my most memorable times this year were at the open calls & pageant preps helping girls prepare for this years’ pageant weekend.
It is hard to believe that this year it winding to a close. I have to say thank you to all of my friends, family and sponsors. I would not have the joy of participating in NAM if it weren’t for you. To future contestants I would have to say, realize how blessed you are to get to do what you love. Whether you earn a crown and a banner this year or not, you are incredible creations that have the potential to do great things.
I hope that this isn’t goodbye, but instead, see you later.
Until next time, your 2014 Miss Arizona Junior Pre-Teen Cover Girl, Dani Mixer.

I cannot exaggerate just how many times I've truly tried to write this farewell. Between not knowing what to say and getting teary eyed from writing; it’s been incredibly hard. I could start from the beginning but that will only mean this will never end...
Once I was crowned the 2014 Miss Nevada Jr. Teen my goal was to represent Nevada and do everything I possibly could. I started off by being reigning royalty in Arizona..
From that weekend I became one busy bee I then was apart of several walks, volunteered at a farm, created disaster relief kits and Coordinated my very first blood drive.
As Nationals came closer I made sure to have bonding time with my sister queens. I believe we all became sister queens only because no mother could handle us all under one roof. Not only did Alyssa, Miah, Mikayla, and Cierra become my sister queens they also became a part of my family. I have loved each and every moment with them this year! Although we lived in different states our bond became stronger and stronger. Distance did not stop our laughter and friendship.
Where there is one successful queen there is a team behind her! Thank you to Georgina, Ashley, and Winnie for a super duper fun end of the year photo shoot! Mom, Dad, kai, Grandma and all of my family thank you for being my biggest supporters. There is one person who became my guardian angel over my reign and I know he’s watching over me and will continue to every time I'm on the stage. I wish you could've been here to shed a tear with me.
Special Shout out to Maria-Theresa for being the greatest coach EVER! I’m so happy I've been able to work with you! I’ve truly noticed how much I've grown through this year! I can’t wait for what is yet to come!
I'd like to thank NAM Team Ewing for making all of this possible. Breanne and Ryan, you're truly the best state directors in the World!! I cant wait to become someone as CrAzY as Breanne one day. Brooke, thank you for everything you've done! I would be extremely LOST without you! Love you!!
Whoever becomes one lucky girl July 11th, 2015 you're in for the best time of your life! I'll always be here if you need any help with anything but to all the girls who compete you're all beautiful! NEVER EVER give up on what you want because when they say third time's a charm you better believe them! I hope I made everyone proud this year! I promise all of you this wont be the last time you'll see me…but, before I go I'd like to say this year has been dedicated to Mason one person who's made me truly want to make a difference.. it's been my gratification to be your
Miss Nevada Jr. Teen, Kailyn Domingo.. xoxo

They say there is a first time for everything. What an amazing year of firsts for this 2014 Utah Princess. The first time I had ever heard of this thing called NAM was when I went to my first open call ever. We thought this would be a fun thing to try, and so I went to my first state pageant ever. Now, here I am my first time being Miss Utah Princess. This sent me on my way to sunny California for my first time at Nationals. I got to experience my first time in Hollywood and also my first time ever losing my voice. For the first time, I met friends from other states and even another princess who had the same name as me and had a younger 4 year old brother named Alex too. I also had a great time being royalty in the Bear Lake Raspberry days parade and the 24th of July parade.
This was my first time ever having sister queens, and they are amazingly wonderful sisters to have. Since I don’t have any sisters of my own it was like my first time even having sisters. They are amazing girls who have supported me, cheered me on, spoiled me and always welcomed me with open arms. They literally let me jump into their arms! We have done so many fun things together including: making and serving meals at the Ronald McDonald house and having a great service weekend in Las Vegas which included my first time helping on a farm and at opportunity village, which especially meant a lot to me because of the weekly volunteering I do at a special needs community ed program. I also had the opportunity to be a judge for the first time at a special needs pageant with my sister queens, including one who traveled from Nevada to help us. I even got to be locked in a marketplace “jail” and raised almost three times my bail goal to help support Primary Children’s Hospital.
I would like to thank National American Miss for a wonderfully exciting fun year of firsts. I will never forget all of these amazing fun experiences and all the amazing friends and people I have met. I also want to thank Breanne for being a super fun and awesome State Director, who did a great job on teaching us our dances and making us laugh. We love that you can be so silly with us! I want to thank Brooke who made open calls a crazy fun experience. I also want to thank whoever suggested our name to National American Miss, because we never could have done this awesome crazy ride in life with out that curious open call letter. I want to thank my heavenly father for giving me the strength and abilities I have and for all my many blessings in life. And a huge heartfelt thank you to my sister queens: Ciearra, Kailyn, Miah, and Mikayla. You are amazing sisters and I can’t even put into words how much love and laughter you have brought into my life. You all make me feel so special and like your own little sister. This experience wouldn’t even been half as amazing without you guys. I also want to thank all of the moms of my sister queens and my mom for helping with all of the things a 6 year old queen needs. You all do so much for us and you all took me under your wings. Thank You!
I have had an amazing year as National American Miss Utah Princess. To anyone out there who thinks dreams are out of reach and that you can’t win your first time trying… you can! You never know what you can do until you try. To my successor: have fun! This year goes by so fast and there’s so much fun to have and things to experience. Try everything. It is an awesomely amazing adventure.
Love your 2014 Miss Utah Princess,
Alyssa Haylee Ray
