Erika won the talent optional competition at the National American Miss Utah pageant, where she won the title of Miss Utah Pre Teen. She went on to place 3rd runner up at the national pageant and took 1st runner up for talent.
Erika is a Carnegie Hall soloist and the 1st place winner of the International American Protege Romantic Music Competition. She has also soloed with the Oquirrh Mountain Symphony and the Utah Valley Symphony and at the Park City Music festival in 2012 and 2013.
Erika also enjoys dance, drama, and serving as spokesperson for the I'm Against Bullying movement. She is the founder of the Golden Harmony organization where musicians perform for seniors (specifically those with Alzheimers and Dementia) not only to entertain but to lift there spirits and bring back lost memories.
When asked about her favorite musician Erika told me, "A musician I admire is my cousin, Megumi Gass who is the reason I started violin. I've always wanted to be just like her because not only is she a fabulous violinist but a humble and giving person who taught me how to serve long before I ever even dreamed of becoming Miss Utah Pre-Teen."
