Farewell from the 2012 National American Miss Illinois Princess Cover Girl

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." My mom and dad always tell me to dream big. I can't believe that almost one year ago, all my hard work really payed off when I was crowned the National American Miss  2012 Illinois Princess Cover Girl.

During my year, I got to do a lot of fun stuff. I helped raise money and walked in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" with some of my sister queens. You all are great and I am glad I got to know you.

I got to donate books to my school and public library. I also got to help my school raise money for new books for the classrooms and students by working at my schools Book Fair.

I was super excited to be in my town's Christmas parade with my sister queen Kady. Kady, you are awesome and I am so glad that we are sister queens and live so close to each other. I even got to be a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Drive.

I had a blast singing Christmas carols to people! I got to help sell tickets for my school's silent auction and set up games for "Family Game Night." We raised a lot of money to help my school and I was glad to get to be apart of it. Just recently I helped sell candles to raise money for a benefit for my aunt Candy who has stage 4 ovarian cancer. You are in our prayers!  Even though my year is almost over, I plan on continuing to help my community.

I want to thank my mom and dad for always believing in me and for always getting to places on time. Jacob, and Colvin, you guys are the best big brothers a girl could have. To my Nana Rapisarda, thank you for walking with me at the breast cancer walk and helping make sure I didn't drop my Christmas pictures during the parade. I would also like to thank all my family, friends, and the local businesses that helped me reach my goals this past year. Without all of you, this year wouldn't have been possible.

To the new Illinois Princess Cover Girl:
Enjoy every minute because before you know it your year will be over. Do everything you can, have fun, laugh a lot, make lots of new friends, and remember to take lots of pictures!

With Love,

Your 2012 Miss Illinois Princess Cover Girl

Chloe Garza, the 2012 National American Miss Nevada Princess shares Special Moments from her Reign

What a year it has been! In July 2012, I was crowned your Miss Nevada Princess.  I have always dreamed of being a princess as every 5-year-old girl does.  What I didn’t know was how much fun I would have along the way!

I kicked off my reign by donating all of the books and bears collected at the pageant to the Ronald McDonald House.  From there my passion for volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House continued as I decorated over 120 brown paper lunch bags and helped pack them with yummy food to be delivered to a local hospital.  My family and I also made dinner for the house guest and participated in their annual food drive where we helped raise over $13,000 in cash donations and 40,000 pounds of food.

I also participated in the “Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying” with all of my Sister Queens, was able to meet Las Vegas’s Mayor Goodman, and volunteered at a booth for the Candlelighters Halloween Bash.  Since the Miss America Pageant was held in Las Vegas I was able to volunteer at the trade show with the Children’s Miracle Network CafĂ© handing out shirts, popcorn and pins.  I even met the host of the preliminary competitions, Dena Blizzard.

In November, I was off to California for Nationals.  Disneyland and Hollywood were so much fun.  I must say my favorite part was learning some great new dance moves from the production numbers.  I LOVED being on stage.  The highlight of Nationals was when I earned the Spirit Stick at the very last rehearsal.

Angelica, Allison, Britney and Carley, thank you for always making me feel special and treating me like a princess.   To Breanne and the rest of the NAM family, thank you for creating such a wonderful program.   Your support and encouragement along the way was very much appreciated.

A BIG thank you to my Mom who always made sure my hair was just right and who spent numerous hours practicing with me.  And Dad thanks for being the most handsome escort a girl could ask for as well as my financial backer.  To my two sisters, Taylor and Carley, you are the best!  Thanks for holding my hand through this entire experience.  To my Grandmas, thank you for being my biggest cheerleaders.

To my Successor, shine like the princess that you are!  This is a year you will always remember!

With Love,

Your 2012- 2013 National America Miss Princess,
Chloe Garza

The 2012 Nevada Junior Pre-teen Relfects on the past year

I can’t believe that it has been one year since I was crowned the 2012 Miss Nevada Jr. Pre-Teen! My year was filled with excitement, opportunities, and so many wonderful people.   What made my winning even more special was that my sister, Chloe, had just been crowned moments before in the princess division and was able to be on stage with me to share my excitement.

Me and my sister Chloe, moments after I won the Miss Nevada Junior Pre-teen title.

After earning my title, I got right to work by donating all of the books and stuffed animals collected at my pageant to the Shade Tree Shelter to comfort displaced families.  I also spent several hours volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House decorating lunch bags, making lunches, serving dinner, and working at their Annual Food Drive.   I was so excited to meet Las Vegas’ Mayor Goodman with my Sister Queens.  One of my favorite events was the Candlelighters Halloween Bash.  We worked a couple of the carnival booths and the kids that participated were so cute.
Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house.
I also participated in the “Run, Walk and Roll Against Bullying” where I met a lot of Nevada title holders of all ages.  It was awesome to see everyone in their crowns and to know that I was making a difference with them.  Since the Miss America Pageant is held in Las Vegas I was fortunate enough to work with the Children’s Miracle Network greeting the contestants and their families at the trade show.
Participating in the "Run, Walk, and Roll Against Bullying" where I met some amazing Miss Nevada Titleholders from many different organizations.
The highlight of my year was traveling to California for Nationals.  I had such a great time with my family.  Going on the Hollywood tour and to Disney was a blast.  Dress-up days were my favorite and made the rehearsals so much fun.  I made a lot of new friends but loved hanging out with, Callie, Miss Utah.
Dressing up with my sister queens at Nationals was a blast!

I would like to thank National American Miss, and especially our state directors for this wonderful opportunity and for all your help and support throughout the year.  To my sister queens, thanks for everything, I wish you all the best!

To my Mom, thank you for always standing by my side no matter what.  Dad, thanks for believing in me and being the cutest escort around.  Chloe and Taylor, you are the BEST sisters a girl could wish for.  To my Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles and cousins, I love you all! Without your endless love and support, this year wouldn’t have been possible.

To my successor be yourself, smile a lot, and have fun!  This will be an amazing adventure for you and your family.

With a kiss and a wave,

Your 2012 National American Miss Nevada Jr. Pre Teen,

Carley Garza
