Chloe Garza, the 2012 National American Miss Nevada Princess shares Special Moments from her Reign
What a year it has been! In July 2012, I was
crowned your Miss Nevada Princess. I have always dreamed of being a
princess as every 5-year-old girl does. What I didn’t know was how much fun
I would have along the way!
I kicked off my reign by donating all of the
books and bears collected at the pageant to the Ronald McDonald House.
From there my passion for volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House continued
as I decorated over 120 brown paper lunch bags and helped pack them with yummy
food to be delivered to a local hospital. My family and I also made
dinner for the house guest and participated in their annual food drive where we
helped raise over $13,000 in cash donations and 40,000 pounds of
food.
I also participated in the “Run, Walk, Roll
Against Bullying” with all of my Sister Queens, was able to meet Las Vegas’s
Mayor Goodman, and volunteered at a booth for the Candlelighters Halloween
Bash. Since the Miss America Pageant was held in Las Vegas I
was able to volunteer at the trade show with the Children’s Miracle Network
Café handing out shirts, popcorn and pins. I even met the host of the
preliminary competitions, Dena Blizzard.
In November, I was off to California for
Nationals. Disneyland and Hollywood were so much fun. I must say my
favorite part was learning some great new dance moves from the production
numbers. I LOVED being on stage. The highlight of Nationals was
when I earned the Spirit Stick at the very last rehearsal.
Angelica, Allison, Britney and Carley, thank you
for always making me feel special and treating me like a princess.
To Breanne and the rest of the NAM family, thank you for creating such a
wonderful program. Your support and encouragement along the way was
very much appreciated.
A BIG thank you to my Mom who always made sure my
hair was just right and who spent numerous hours practicing with me. And
Dad thanks for being the most handsome escort a girl could ask for as well as
my financial backer. To my two sisters, Taylor and Carley, you are the
best! Thanks for holding my hand through this entire experience. To
my Grandmas, thank you for being my biggest cheerleaders.
To my Successor, shine like the princess that you
are! This is a year you will always remember!
With Love,
Your 2012- 2013 National America Miss
Princess,
Chloe Garza
