NAM girl lends a hand, or should we say "foot" to raise money.
The 2009 NAM Wisconsin Jr. Preteen, Brielle Shortreed is one heck of a go-getter! Brielle, who spends countless hours with special needs adults really knows how to put her mind to something and go after it. Brielle, stays BUSY as Miss Wisconsin, but this time around she is lending a hand...or should I say a foot, to the charities that mean the most to her!
Recently, Brielle put together an amazing team (pictured left) to
help raise money for the local ARC Special Olympics organization. Brielle and her team donated their Saturday and their walking shoes, for the 1st Annual A.R.C. Special Olympics Walk and Roll! Along for the walk on Brielle's team was Travis, who is a special needs adult who lives with the Shorteed's, Gus who Brielle spends time weekly working with and learning sign, and another special needs adult who Brielle met not to long ago, and is fitting in with their group perfectly! Also supporting Brielle's cause was Caris Lowe ( 2009 Miss WI Princess), Brielle's sister Alissa, other family members, and some amazing friends Brielle was thankful to have along to show support and walk for this amazing cause!
NAM girls DO make a difference!
