Brianna Nelson, Miss Nebraska Princess 2009 looks back to remember her year as royalty
I can’t believe the year has flown by so quickly, and my time as 2009 National American Miss Nebraska Princess is about to come to an end. The past year has been amazing, truly a dream come true.
I have been so honored to have the opportunity to represent our state and the National American Miss Organization. As soon as I received my title, I got right to work. I delivered Books and Bears to the Gretna Angel Tree, and volunteered with the Nebraska Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I appeared in several parades and events, and I met Governor Dave Heineman on National American Miss Day.
The highlight of my year was traveling to California for Nationals. I had such a great time with my family! We had lots of fun at Disneyland, the beach, and touring the streets of Hollywood. But the best part was meeting all the other state and national queens. I made lots of new friends from all over the country. My new BFF Alyssa from New York was the winner of the Mustang Convertible, and I even got to sit in it with her! I will cherish my memories of that week for the rest of my life.
I would like to thank National American Miss, and especially our state directors, Kenn and Lani Maples for this wonderful opportunity and for all your help and support throughout the year. To my sister queens, thanks for everything, I wish you all the best! To my Mom, Dad, Devon, Grandparents and friends, I love you all! Without your endless love and support this year wouldn’t have been possible.
To the 2010 Nebraska State Finalists, the best of luck to all of you. I can’t wait to meet you all! As pageant weekend approaches, remember… have fun, make LOTS of friends, and most importantly be yourself. It’s your time to shine! Love Always,
Brianna Nelson, Your 2009 Miss Nebraska Princess
