Shelby Reukauf, Miss Wisconsin Preteen, has lived the dream this past year - lets take a look!
Dear Family, Friends, and Contestants,
Being crowned the National American Miss 2009 Miss Wisconsin Pre-Teen was a dream come true. This year has been full of excitement and new opportunities. I received a warm welcome home from my community with signs, radio spots, and even a TV interview. My first duty was to distribute all of the bears and books to our local Woman’s Abuse Shelter offering comfort to displaced families. I made several guest appearances at charity events such as our “Woman’s Night Out” campaign with famous author Mary Pierce and our Men’s Health Expo with former Milwaukee Brewer Jimmy Ganter. I was honored to be the guest speaker at our Rally For A Cure golf outing speaking out on breast cancer and early detection.
The skills I have gained have given me the confidence to star in one of the lead roles of our community theater production of “Bye Bye Birdie”. This was a big accomplishment for me as I have never sang on stage before.
In November I had the chance to attend Nationals in California. This was a special time for me as I was able to re-connect with old friends and make many new ones. I had a blast on the Hollywood tour and day at Disney.
I was honored to have some of the best sister Queens ever. I was able to meet up with them throughout the year and got to know some of their families. I will cherish my new lifelong friendships. I look forward to all the new friendships I will make this weekend.
A huge “Thank You” goes out to Ken, Lani, and Brianne Maples for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime. I also want to thank my family for making my memories all that more special.
To my successor – Enjoy your reign. It will fly by quickly. Cherish each moment and have the time of your life.
Love,
Shelby Reukauf
