Being the Illinois Jr. Preteen Cover Girl is an experience Isis Graham will never ever forget!!ove
It has been a year since I was crowned your Illinois Jr. Pre-Teen Cover Girl and what a year it has been! I not only won the cover girl title, I also won 1st runner up in Actress, Talent and best resume! I have soo many memories that will last me for a lifetime!
Because of my passion for education, I started my journey by volunteering with the United Negro College Fund and their walk to help raise money for African American students to attend prestigious colleges and since then my volunteering hasn’t stopped. I was a member of Chloe’s Team for children with special needs and walked in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in honor of my grandmother who died of cancer. On Easter, I helped put a smile on the face of children by serving them lunch and handing out cups filled with candy from you know who; the Easter Bunny! I participated in several parades throughout the state and even got to ride on the fire truck and meet with the Mayor of Elmwood Park.
I have met soo many people and made so many friends from all around the country from Open Calls, being visiting royalty in several states (where I was always in charge of the younger finalists) and of course “Nationals in Hollywood!” Speaking of Nationals, I had a blast participating in the 60’s party, crazy hair day, receiving the National Cover Girl Title and placing 1st Runner up in the Spokesmodel Competition.
I would like to give thanks to some of the people who made this year possible and rewarding. Mom, thank you for always there and pushing me to let my light shine. A special thanks goes out to my sponsors and the NAM family for always making me feel like a Queen. To my fellow Queens and Covergirls, I am truly blessed to have represented Illinois with the best of the best! Last but not least, to my little sister Imani, it was great sharing this opportunity with you (I love you!) To all the contestants, remember no one can fulfill your destiny but you!
I am proud to have represented National American Miss this past year. For the last time I am your 2009-2010 IL Jr. Pre-Teen Cover Girl, Isis Graham.
I had so much fun being the Jr. Preteen Cover Girl
