Nebraska Jr. Preteen, Sara Stehlik donates books and bears, helps put a smile on kids faces
One of the four required competitions at National American Miss is the community involvement program. Each contestant must bring a children's book or stuffed animal to the pageant in order to receive 10% of their score. The first duty of the new queen is to donate all those books and bears to a children's charity of their choice and volunteer their time with them throughout the year of their reign. Well, check out this awesome story of how Sara Stehlik, 2010 Nebraska Jr. Preteen, donated the books and bears form accumulated from the 2010 Nebraska pageant contestants. Recently, because of Sara's achievement in volunteerism, she was featured in the local Nebraska City Newspress yesterday because of her involvement with Child Advocacy Center. Sara, who co-hosted an Open House for the opening of one of the new centers in Nebraska also contributed the books and bears that she acquired from the pageant. The Child Advocacy Centers help serve children and families of abuse for 17 counties in southeast Nebraska.
