Saying farewell is Miss Nebraska Jr. Preteen, Maranda Saltzman

Dear Contestants, Friends, and Family

My year as Miss Nebraska Jr. Pre-teen 2009-2010 has been a tremendous blessing! This opportunity to represent my state has been more than I could ever ask for.

I began my year donating my time helping others. I started out by raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Angels-Among-Us, and the Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign. I also got to volunteer at several nursing homes, participate in parades, meet Governor Heineman, and throw out the first pitch at an Omaha Royals Baseball game.

Of course, the highlight of my year was participating in the National Pageant in Anaheim, California. I went to Disneyland, the beach, Rodeo Drive, and toured the streets of Hollywood with my family. The best part was getting to meet so many friends from across the United States . It was the most wonderful experience I’ll never forget.

Thank you mom and dad for believing in me and for letting me know that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Thank you to the National American Miss staff you guys are all awesome! And, congratulations to all the state finalist! Remember, you’re never fully dressed without a smile! Good luck this weekend and may God bless you all!
